A Spiritual Mayor is a public Christian leader who accepts responsibility for the moral and spiritual life of his city without claiming political authority over it.
Pastor David J. Lynn is not running for the elected office of Mayor of Toronto.
“Spiritual Mayor” is not a political candidacy, ceremonial office, parody, or fake election campaign. It does not mean David governs Toronto, controls City Hall, or represents every church in the city.
It describes the responsibility David is willing to carry publicly through preaching, service, truth, compassion, defence of conscience, support for families, advocacy for churches, and direct engagement with Toronto’s people and problems.
The limit of politics
Political leadership cannot carry the entire moral burden of a city.
Manufacture character.
It cannot create conscience, disciple a generation, restore every broken family, give people spiritual purpose, or replace the work of churches and communities.
The argument is not that government is unnecessary. The argument is that government is necessary—and limited.

Singular and specific
This title is centred on Pastor David.
It is not a program inviting everyone to claim the same title. It is not a generic Christian leadership movement. It is a public standard against which David’s own message, work, courage, discipline, and service can be judged.
